Tonight I went at Auditorium, in Santa Cecilia hall, one of the three halls. The concerto was delicate and inspirating. But I definitively love this hall. It is made all, I mean all, in levigate wood. The huge ceiling, the balconies, the walls.
The hall was projected by Renzo Piano (as the whole Auditorium) pursuing to reach the best resonance for the music played on the stage. The shape of the ceiling, very strange indeed, the architecture of balconies, were designed with this aim. The woods are chosen from thousands, and combined, to reflect the sound of the music in a warm and natural way. And it works. It works so well.
