The spring has come once again. Time to get the vespa and take a stroll around Rome. Like Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn did.
The vespa has been one of the symbols of la dolce vita, the sweet life, of Rome. The 50s and the frist of the 60s were years in which life was more easy: war ended, leaving Italians poor and Italy to be rebuilt, but the optimism of the new peace, joined to the natural cheerfulness and laziness of the romans made those times especially full of life.
Young romans took their vespas and reached the trastevere district, hearth of the true romanity, or via del corso, where they romantically courted their girls taking a walk for boutiques and buying simple flowers from the vendors.
