When in Rome, do as romans do.
GNAM: Galleria Nazionale di Arte Moderna
The National Gallery of Modern Art is a perfect way to start a slow and lazy sunday. Just out of the neoclassical building there is a bar in the Etruscan Museum of Villa Glori: a cappuccino, a cornetto surrounded by trees hit by the winter sun beams of the morning. Then a walk between the italian and european art of the 1900. The Bucolic paintings of Tuscany, of Naples; the avant-gardes of Serat, Van Gogh, Monet, Klimt; the Classicism of Canova. Walking in the echoes of the steps of the museum’s large rooms, admiring the great art of the last century. Once finished the visit, nothing has changed, but a subtle awarness: we are, right now, in a stream of history; but it is sunday; we are too lazy today and, after all, it’s lunch time.
